    Welcome Doug,

American pine? Huh, I would of guessed another BC softie. I assume(I know-bad!!) a west coast mill is the bulk supplier?

BC pine will be harder to come by. Issues with the railway loading out bulk for us, not to mention the Italians are grabbing up just about anything they can get their hands on...Korea is starting to come to the table as well

In other words your not saying! Their not BC is all were gonna get. That's OK, As long as they are a good quality softie and we have a good supply. Let me know when CT is gonna get a new shipment so I can purchase some trial bags. That is if he'll open up a full ton to sell a few.

My guess is that CT will probably bring more BHH/Gold in when he starts to do some spring buying. The DFir might be another story...don't know about those.....Imacman, back at ya....been down to see June lately in Berkley?

Are these pellets a saw dust(from lumber production) or log to chips?

Well ya said if we had questions! I just have to ask!!! :D

Honestly I haven't been pleased with log to chip besides the Vermonts. Hopefully they have there chit together. Got to have small screens in the hammer mill to keep the chips small or compression is not as good as a saw dust pellet. Hopefully they aren't like the Confluence Energy(AKA Platinum Fire).

But not having to rely on lumber production is great for keeping a good flow of pellets no matter what the building trades are doing.

On another note, I see Confluence Energy acquired Rocky Mountain. I liked them better than the Platinum Fires.

There are a lot of other mills that do whole log chipping, not just in CO. The important point is that they stay consistent as possible ton after ton. That is one of the main things I constantly hear about the Okies is they seem to be the same year after year. The DFir mill has been around along time and figured this out years ago. I'm pretty sure anyone will like the Gold product as well. With the increase in world demand for pellets, in some areas the only way to get enough volume is to whole log chip, as recovering dust from sawmills just can't produce the amount needed to fully supply some of the larger operations that now are out there.

Its a shame that the BHH had supply/production issues at the mill. I liked the ponderosa pellet. They smelled great too. I'm sure they gained a good following from some of the other burners. Too bad you couldn't offer them on a limited basis, But understandable that its best to just try something else.

Hopefully you'll put s sticker or something on the BHH bags saying they are not the ponderosa pellet and are pine to avoid confusion if you plan to run out the bags.
