Nope, nope, uh-uh, nooooo, nope. Star date- XX,XXX vs. a long time ago, ...... Seriously, could you visualize that-??!!--- Darth Vader saying- "Kirk, ... I am your Father.."
Saw it Friday night with my honey and her 12 year old daughter (who hadnt seen any of the Star Wars movies) I almost never go to the movies as I prefer watching at home on a good sound system, but this one was a must see for the big screen. We even made sure to go to the RPX theater (like IMAX) for the huge screen/comfortable recliner chairs and over the top sound system. If your going to do it- go big or go home, right? Although I agree the plot had similarities, I LOVED this movie. For me it delivered everything that was promised, and even the 12 year old couldnt stop talking about it and said it was probably better than Hunger Games, which in 12 year old girl talk is HUGE. Unlike the disappointing lack of plot with Mad Max, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. If you are into this type of movie, IMO it wont disappoint.
How is the weather by the Inclined Plane? Oh yea, im not even going to dignify those with legitimate comment, except that...... JarJar should have been a canteena character. Silent.
Agreed, and I would also add this is the kind of movie that will really shine on blu-ray, especially if you have a nice home theater setup. Really looking forward to seeing it again when it's released...
Come to the Dark Side Eric, it's more fun over here, or at least it's more exciting! And no, I didn't create that smiley, it was on the internet!
Dont you think that even though you can never recreate the first time feel or the era it came out in, it was pretty darn good? I went to see the first star wars in 77 when I was five with my mom, dad and a bunch of parents and other kids. I was the only 5 year old to stay awake through the entire movie. Innovative and ahead of its time. I tried to explain this to my kids and they just stare at me blankly. Sure Han is an old guy now but the movie just had an uptick feel of excitement that the most recent ones were lacking. Lol just my opinion.
I liked it very much and was thrilled to finally see it. But I did notice a lot of similarites right from the get go.
Two inches of white stuff on the ground. Finally. (My daughter worked as a waitress this past summer at the restaurant at the top of the incline. Good food but it ain't cheap.)
For me 30 + years later, the twist on the original series having similarities while adding to the story and being fun is what made it enjoyable. It also gets the interest for some of the younger kids to get hooked on the first 3 movies all over again. No spoilers but it held my interest.
