I didn't know about that 1 mile per 1 lb of dog. Our dogs just keep going, and going, and going..... Cricket the tracker, Rascal the hunter and Shadow just gets into trouble enthusiastically.

Thanks for sharing the hike with us.

That was just something she saw online. My Rotti was 135 lbs, but 135 miles........ probably not:D

We had another dog years ago, a toy fox terrier, that got spooked one time when we were out camping 3 miles from the car. He ran off, we searched and searched all day, had to drive home, saddened knowing he probably wouldnt survive. No cell phone service thousands of acres, heavily wooded. We got home an hour and a half later, decided to both call out of work to go back and look for him. We got back, bushwached all day, it was hot,no luck. Very sad again, we drove home. The next day, we went to work, and recieved a call after lunch from the vet. They got a call that he was found! We immediately left and drove 2 hours to the lovely people that found our dog, Petey. They explained that they were driving up the road we originally parked on and he hopped right in their car. He must have followed our scent all those miles by himself, 2 days later, across fast moving streams, up and down steeper areas, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We could hardly believe it. Dogs, without question are so reliliant, and will fight to stay alive!
