The mean IQ is 100. 50% of the people you encounter will below that.

That would be a correct statement if the mean IQ was the same as the median IQ... Most likely, those numbers are not equal...

As a matter of fact, IQ tests are normalized to make mean and median the same.

Total thread derail, but I see you have a Husky 235. How do you like it?

I'm not a big fan of it.. Bought it at Lowes several years ago when I needed it for a quick job. I probably need to learn how to tune it correctly. My go to saws are my Stihls and I've considered putting the 235 on Craigslist. Purchase price was $179 and it served its purpose for a post hurricane cleanup in FL.

Thanks for that. I have the 240, which I believe is similar, and have had good luck after I tuned it. For the most part, people seem to hate these little saws!

I don't know I am a chainsaw dummy..:emb: But I would make this video and bring it too the dealer (he said he did once) and say fix it. If they could not fix it I would demand money back and find another dealer, If $ not returned, I would be screaming. my guess would be a carb issue cause runs cold not hot..

That's where I wonder if he even did bring it to a dealer though. Dealers can pull the caps and tune the saw without voiding warranty. I don't run a chainsaw shop, but you'd think they would fire it up, address the problem with the saw hot, and send him on his way.

    You would hope,

my true story, old Jon sered, brought to a dealer said give it a tune up its not oiling. picked it up 120 dollars took it to camp 60 miles away, new plug, air filter etc, still not oiling.. brought it back, fixed it again charged another 60 I said fine after I start it. this time started in parking lot.... still no bar oil chain was dry. Brought to another guy not chain saw guy but small engine guy. he looked at it worm drive? is oiler and ordered part to fix it. But had to buy part from dealer guy that failed to fix it twice:hair:

No "caps" to pull on 455. Just need splined carb tool, and away you go. Maybe his dealer (corner hdw store) doesn't have that tool?

My saw didn't have any caps either, I just assumed they came with from the factory, and the dealer forgot to reinstall when he fired up my saw before I left with it. Not much of a dealer if they don't have the required tools.

You can get all trailer park, and make a spline tool out of a Bic pen (or other moderately soft plastic pen) like I did.

Another redneck-engineering tool centers on a crimp-on electrical connector. Why spend $4 and change on Husqy tool? :picard:

Of course, for the dealer, besides having the carb tool, he/she has to know how to use it. Major leap there for some.

Back to the original post, if a dealer handed back a saw like that, I'd give em a little feedback. And expect money back.

I never did look into the price of the splined tool, reading on the internet lead me to believe they cost more than a few $$$, and shipping is absolutely silly up here . I think I'd be a non happy person if the same happened to me. I'd find the time to advertise their good service in the parking lot for an hour or three.
