Ron James is on earlier too. It may overlap the half time show? It's a New Year's tradition around our place. Have good NY /eve no matter!

As I didn't get left over turkey to take home from Christmas, I cooked one this morning for lunch. tomorrow will be dinner with Mom and brother and it will be Turkey! Sunday, I will make turkey pies and soup from whatever remains.

Definitely winter here with below freezing temps but no snow. Might get some on the weekend. Really enjoying the clear sunny days.

I bought a new to me truck..
Wanted a 3/4 ton. Wasnt a fan of driving my 1 ton around
when i need to pull a trailer or haul wood.
Wont be hauling much wood anytime soon unless i can talk someone into
loading and unloading it for me. lol

I need to get some pictures posted of it.

    2003 GMC Sierra SLT 2500HD
Grey heated leather, flow through console, Bose, crew cab, memory seats, perimeter lighting,
brake controller, paint matched running boards, 8.1L, Allison 1k trans and 71k miles

It has a few issues, of course.
The slip yoke isnt slipping like it should. I had my Dad and a friend put on a bandaid fix
for that. My Dad was in the middle of removing the door moldings and found some bad
areas in the paint. Im affraid to have the door repainted, affraid it wont match close enough.
So we are just going to clean it up best we can, slap on some good primer and cover it back up
with door molding. Wanted to leave the molding off, the OEM stuff is chrome and the chrome
was starting to bubble. Replacing it with black aftermarket molding that is solid and doesnt
    have a coating on it.

Ive been spending some money on it.
Replacing all of the interior lighting with LED's as well as the perimeter lighting.
Its getting smoked LED tail lights that arent too flashy. I dont like the amber turn signals
in the Gmc tail lights, my 1 ton chevy has the same ones. Also going to install a set of smoked
headlight housings and turn signal housings as well as smoked fog light housings.
It needs tow mirrors, so it'll get a pair of tow mirrors, i'll have to level them or teach my Dad
    how to do it.

Wanting to put a set of wheels on it with some aggressive tires.
I had my Dad crank up the torsion bars a bit. Got the front up an inch a half.
I'll be swapping the keys out once i am healthy enough.

    Thats about it..
    Its pretty steller ride..
Its exactly what i wanted other then the bed..
Its got 6.5' bed and i wanted an 8 footer.
My tool box wont fit in the bed, so im going to have to buy a new one.
    Gotta have a tool box..
Eventually i'll spray the bed at work. This truck isnt going to get much
    abuse in the bed..

    Happy New Year ya crazies..
    Im doing well

Don't I wish. O how nice that would be. But 2016 is to be the year that my name changes to 'Slim.' Seems like I've heard that before. O well, maybe this time. Like Red Green says "I'm a man ... and I can change ... if I have to ... I guess."

A little score the other day. While searching the local online rummage sale site, ran across a fella who had a Griswold #9 stove top waffle maker. Threw him an offer and low and behold its now mine. Needs to be restored, but no big deal. A few posts later, ran across a jotul combifire wood stove, I believe it's a combifire #4. Same thing, made him an offer and he accepted and even delivered it to me. Can't beat that! I was smiling all day!

Campinspecter to the rescue yesterday. I was heating the oil to make my Oliebollen New Year Eve's treat when I discovered my candy thermometer was broken. When down to the local grocery store. They don't carry them any more. The other kitchen store was closed and the two bargain stores didn't have one. I came home and tried to jury-rig the broken one to work. Campinspecter went down to the basement and came up with stack thermometer that read up to 1000 F. Worked perfectly. He now has found me one on eBay that is all metal with a clip for the side of the pot.

Olie Bollen Recipe I use candied fruit in mine instead of apple and raisins.
