More like hills that are called mountains. Outdoor fire won't matter much for the wood-unless you're down wind.
Is it even fun to ski down a "hill "?? I mean I have only been to the mountains of west Virginia skiing which is nothing like the rockies. But I couldnt imagine much less slope than those and be fun? I use to pretty much point my skies down hill and not turn till the bottom on the black diamonds.
16 here. Very light snow, also. Never broke 20 today. Just lit the eldorado in the basement and will heat up the workshop very nice for tonight!
Its 11F right now. I just loaded the stove with larch and birch like I was doing an overnight burn. Heading off to a new years party soon so dont want the fire to die out before I get home which would likely happen with pine. If the timing is off for reloading I will let it burn itself out. Im not into dialing in a fire at 1 am especially after a party. Edit... wheres my manners, Happy New years everyone!!
Yep, that's a great excuse. 19° out dropping down to 13 tonight. Burning ironwood and hickory in the quad. Furnace is still quiet. I'm going to start collecting my energy bills and posting up the difference from last year. Pretty soon I'll have the gas company terrifying that that gas meter is operating properly. It's got to be much lower than previous years. This month they might start questioning as it was the the second earnest December on record. January sounds like it will be back to normal- ish temps.
We got 8.6" of wet heavy snow the other day. Sleds have been running around, just not mine yet. Trails are not yet open.
That's fun place, not much more than an hour away from me. The high speed quad lift is very nice there.
Going down to 10 tonight. House was at 70 when I got home. A small 4 split load of some punked up oak to bump temp to 72 and set up coals for the overnight reload about an hour ago. Crising perfectly at 600 stt. Will be about 70 in the am when I wake up.
Thats awesome. Sticking it to the man! Our bills were $50-150 a month lower when I started. Now the price of our power is way up since then and we heat more of the house so im sure I save more than that.
It's 32 out so I have some Cherry going in the Liberty. It looks like starting on Sunday, we'll have a three day stretch of our coldest weather this year with a low on Sunday night of 2, Monday night low of -8 and Tuesday night of 4.
Monday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 13. That would be the coldest we have gotten this year, here
Just business sense. They want people inside buying $8 beers. Have fun. Should be plenty of snow and a bit icy. Cascade is just a few miles up the road from me.
