Well at least the Iditarod has a couple months to go yet before the start of the race. Lots of time for more snow and cold. At least let us hope the rivers freeze solid. Some years those rivers can be problems for sure.

Enjoy it Dave! But I'm hoping we don't have to use the ice cleats. I don't like wearing them but will if need be.

Better to wear them than slipping &/or falling on the ice.
Many of use have that "T" shirt .

Got a 24 mile ride in.
Pretty tough, 20 -25 mph winds but was 49° when I left
Good workout, I rode into the wind for 12 miles, good tail wind coming back :)
Went by a moose 1/4 mile from home serious about something in the grass, berries off a yard tree maybe. (they don't eat grass)
When he laid his ears back, I got out of there.

Sun never popped out , getting dark fast. 5 miles from home. Blinking red tail light.

That's nice Dave but with the headwind, that had to make you work a bit. Like you said though, it is sweet with a tailwind. Maybe time to pack a rifle while riding bike!  They lay their ears back I'd be getting out of there fast too!

Maybe thanking God that it doesn't have to dig through the snow to get something to eat?!

Is it that late in your season that the moose has already lost his antlers?

Looked like a small yearling bull , maybe 1st winter with antlers.
Not sure what triggers them to fall off,
    temperature, time or both.
