Somersets burning right now. Cleaned the furnace yesterday and made the swap from PTL (which would have done fine) to Sets.

The sets have a lighter and finer ash and seem to produce slightly higher BTU. But I still love PTL's.

Took a shot switching from the Sets to the TSC (Ligs) tonight. 10 degrees out & they have the house at 70 degrees.....just as good as the Sets. :) I'm convinced.

I thought about buying by the bag, But the dealers in my area charge more if you buy them by the bag. Also don't like to break open tons of the good chit. So I still favor full ton purchase and get a couple seasons out of each ton. The ton of cubex should last one more season if it doesn't get crazy cold on us. I also have 1 ton of Hamers that I should be able to stretch 3 seasons out of. The draw back is I can only stash 1 1/2 tons of boxstore stuff with the Cubex and Hamers taking up useful space. I may just burn up the Cubex and try to ride with one ton of cold season stuff. Should work and allow more room for shoulder stuff.

Decent shoulder stuff has been hit and miss this season. I gotta have a good stash area to hog them up when they become available.

Somersets in and house is 70 deg. I have cycled the oil on a few times when the temps were below 0 just for a litttle insurance although this home doesn't have a record of frozen pipes. 5 deg. out now. Got the old girl on HR. 5 though, rarely run her that high.
I have to agree with imacman the TSC and PTL (which I believe are the same, at least in my TSC ) are doing very well this year. Perhaps slightly dirtier than sets, but very good pellets.

My HD now has Ligs. Was going to buy a couple of bags but I recall my auger having to crunch these. Maybe next time I see them

I have one more bag of Premier Appalachian(easier to call them Stove Chow). and I'll be switching to last seasons PTL's. 25 bags of some really nice heat.

I got to get pellet shopping cause all I got after these is my cold season stuff! They are so dang expensive I'm leaning to just sit on them. Hopefully I can get PTL, SC/Premiers Appalachian, or AWF to stuff the stash as full as I can.

Hey subbie. My dealer in N Berwick has had the Lacrete at 275 all season. Reasonable for the quality IMHO. See if your dealer offers a deal in the early spring as that might be a good time to get a pallet (60 bags on Lacreet) I went with the North Country and they are doing the job just fine at 265/ton. Very happy with them this year.

Once we get thru the cold season, I will go back to the TSC (MWP) or AWF (If I can get them)
