Yep. YAY us. Woo freakin Hoo! Been watching this come up the state. It stalled right about on an E/W line in Mio all the way across the state. We've only had a few flurries so far, but you guys downstate from us look to be getting it pretty good.
Don't know what we'll end up with here in the U.P. , but I know with the wind right now, it's dang cold!
Over all, not really that bad here. Hope it doesn't get worse. It is colder than expected. Had to go out in the car and the temperature read 23 degrees and it feels like it too. While I was gone, the snow changed to sleet. The state highway looked to be a mess so I stayed on the side roads which were not bad at all.
It's definitely breezy, but most everything today has been sleet. It only recently switched over to freezing rain. I was stupid enough to step outside a bit ago and see what was going on. My ice gauge (AKA the big Norway spruce in the backyard) is starting to show some sagging branches. Generator is ready if needed. Nothing much more I can do short of stay warm and enjoy the ride.
I have a ton of small twigs and branches all over the yard. They all have a nice coating of ice and are super brittle. The wind has finally started to die down some but it sounds like it might still be raining a little. I think I worst is over. At the most maybe 4" of slushy stuff on the roads.
Made it through four power blips so far. I'm not hearing the sleet/rain against the Windows any more, but the wind is still ripping pretty good.
I understand you and us guys up in N. Ontario will get from 4-5"to 6-8" depending on which bands of heavy snow we get. No freezing rain in the forecast for here but not sure about the UP and below the bridge. I guess we'll know for sure tomorrow. lol
In northern Emmet county right now, windy and snow. Hard to say how much it's blowing around. 25mph peak 15 avg
Luckily it sleet/snowed before the freezing rain hit - gives some traction. Not too bad here in southeast Michigan. The worse part was I got into my pajamas and was heading to bed when I looked outside and see our recycle bin tipped over and stuff strewn all about. I had one trash can 60 yards down the road and boxes all over. I had to go out in the rain and pick it all up.
That was hard to like Coach, but I feel your pain. Looks like we ended up with about 6" of the fluffy stuff, and no ice...........although it might still finds it's way here. I'd much rather have that on top of the snow, than underneath.
Wasn't to bad at all ,lota wind , snow ,sleet, and some freezing rain , just enough to cover the ground and that's melting at 43 °F
I shoved a bunch of this crap around. Only a few inches but I've shoved around a foot or more of snow that did not move as hard as this crap. Thankfully, we did not get the freezing rain. Only snow and sleet.
