This weather pattern has pushed our ice all the way north to you. We are close to the place where lots of rain and snow vary back and forth most years and we get a lot of ice compared to those on either side of us. For us it is usually the Gulf weather pattern and the transcontinental weather pattern colliding. It is the same reason we get a lot of tornados around here.
1 right now was a lot cooler. Full bright sun. Was a beautiful day with hardly any wind. 76 in stove room rest of house 68-69 burning special blend of lodge pole pine..
12* right now headed down a few more degress to 8-9* for the overnight low. Small batch (4 splits) is burning down that I put on at 5 pm to maintain current house temp and have coals for the overnight full load of oak. Will load it up about 9:15-9:30. This will be my daily afternoon/after work routine as long as the temps stay sub 30*!
Much warmer tonight 21, a storm is coming over the Sierra's we should get a couple of inches of snow tomorrow.
Have to love this Wyoming weather.. Will be up at 2 am also Something about this lodge pole and all night burns
I have 20 acres between Roundup and Miles City, Montana that I was planning to retire at, maybe I'll stay here.
What fun would that be... I'm just thankful I didn't homestead this area. Was out today for a few hrs splitting the last of next years lodgepole.. Loved every minute. The rounds were popping like firecrackers.
Down to 25 tonight here in western NY, coldest low we've had in a couple weeks. High of 40 tomorrow, and then 40's throughout the week. Gonna be a multiple fire a day kind of week. Got a load of silver maple in tonight, will probably let it go out tonight and let the gas take over.
That's a pretty vast area. Hope you have a town nearby. Wife is a Miles City native, she said-" Whu?..where?.. he'll have to be more specific, there's lots of nothing out there..."
Around Melstone? I like that area. She never ventured that far N/W of Miles. Glendive, Circle... those were her haunts.
From the basement we have the Liberty filled with Cherry (2 small rounds of Ironwood on top) and the Pellet Stove going in the other corner set at 75, we should be nice and warm in the morning.
