after selling off several saws over the last few months, been kinda on the look out for sump'n i haven't owned but always wanted to, so a couple days ago this echo cs4600 popped up on c-list on the cheap and close by, a saw i've wanted but just never came across at the right deal at the right time until today, finally hooked up with the seller and home it came in non running condition but still had very good compression and is complete, i found that the choke rod had dislodged and for the most part that's all that was wrong with it, had it running in less than 20 minutes......:).......sometimes referred to as the poor mans 346xp, this saw seams to run very well, and i can tell with a MM and just a good cleaning this should be a great firewood saw, pretty happy so far......:D.........the pic is the one the seller posted...... 00202_ifrTyUwWTH4_600x450.jpg

O.K., you got pics.......well, this being my first of this series of echo, i'll give you guys my highs and lows on this saw, tore it down to the crankcase assy, gave it total cleaning that always takes up most of the time, built much like a husky 1 or 2 series saw, these are closed port cylinder saws, went ahead and deleted the base gasket having it this far down figured i may as well, plenty of room to do it, but i will say these aren't the easiest saws to work on, not bad, but not easy either, the rear carb boot is a PITA for sure, not only getting it back in the top cover, but just trying to fit the air filter back on without it trying to bend back under the cover can be a challenge, small details but worth mentioning, otherwise the saw cleaned up real nice and runs very well now without the base gasket, didn't even give it an MM, just removed the screen....... looks like i'll be owning another 4600 hopefully today thanks to my buddy Andy, at the very least it will be a good parts saw, but i think i'll be able to make it a runner, still got my eyes peeled for a 4500 though.......... image.jpeg

You collect I dont. So they are both open for trades or ;)

My parts donor 450 that was a runner took apart and dude tried to put helicoils in cylinder where muffler studs go in :zip::rofl: . He messed that all up. They need fill welded retapped to use cylinder.
    4500 runs and cuts.

    20" bar 12.5" ash

Dry harden ash that fills like baseball bat hard.
