Usually this time of the year we get news reports from America showing how cold it is and snow to the roof and cars stuck on freeways.

This year we are seeing tornados and dudes walking around New York in shorts and T shirts...

    What the??

How does that little Country S160 do in the extreme cold? I have the same stove except in insert form (C160) and when it gets real cold it struggles to keep up, fortunately we dont have too many of those days in my area or I would need a bigger stove

thats about the size of my house as well, except mine is a tri level and a challenge to heat at times. I know I loose alot of my heat up the chimney (chase) even though I run the blower whenever stove is lit, In retrospect I should put a free standing stove in

BTW, nice saw collection you have there

Thank you Elderthewelder ! one can never have too many saws!........ I have a newer manufactured home, if I had any bigger home I would have a larger stove too. My brother lived up in Arlington, Washington and it always felt cold to me there........... I lived up in Eatonville, Washington in 1980 when Mt Saint Helens blew up, I loved it up there! Very nice country up there.

Yeah, funny - my friends in Arizona have snow for Christmas and it was up to 48* or so as a high (started in low 20's).

The Northeast goes thru these warm winters every so often because of El Nino. Although, we have either flirted with record highs, or made record highs for the last couple of days.

Of course, on June 28th of last summer I was still running the stove because it was in the low 40's, so it all evens out in the long run.

Started the day walking the dogs, encountered neighbors swimming their dogs in the river. Exchanged greetings and laughed about who ever thought the dogs would still be able to swim on Xmas day! Came home and did some yard work in a T-Shirt! It was 64 and sunny. This wasn't just a top 10 day. Probably one of the top Xmas days of a lifetime.
