I went back in the woods to make sure the trails were cleared, nothing down. I made a run up top, nothing down there either, I looked down the hill to an area that I cut in every so often to see some wood c/s, I had forgot about some Sugar Maple I worked on about three weeks ago, so I brought it home so I could stack that with some other Sugar Maple we had and the Sugar Maple I brought out yesterday.
Tuesday could be our first storm (snow) so I'm stacking our better firewood that is c/s before it hits, I still have some Sugar Maple back in the woods I'll get tomorrow and some Beech that will get stacked.
I took a run back in the woods this afternoon so I could get what Sugar Maple was left, it finished the rack. I also had some Ironwood that needed to be split so I did that so I could get it up in the stacks, still need a few more so it will finish off that stack. For the heating season of 2016-17, we'll be burning a face cord of Oak and a face cord of this Ironwood with two face cord of Beech for our colder months.
It certainly twas a tad windy on Thursday, just about blew my three spruce trees down (did get a 45 gallon garbage can full of small branches from the 8 million silver maples on my yard though). Blew some tin off the neighbour's barn roof, that was fun. Trying to get the chickens back in the coop, dodging flying roof panels. I now have a (very) slight idea what it's like for the southern folks during a tornado/huricane. Tuesday - snow, blech!
