Was feeling a bit cool in the house this morning so I went to the closet and dug out my old catcher's mitt. Stuck my hand outside and caught some of the neighbor's wood as it was passing by. Had to do this 3 times to get enough wood to start a fire. Dang, that wind was strong. On the other hand, I'm sure some of our neighbor's now have some of our wood for starting their fires too.
Bet their wood wasn't near as dry as yours I'd want to be " down-wind" of your stacks You loose any trees in the wind storm ?
It sure was windy! We went through the same thought process here. There was all kinds of debris blowing around and we wondered if the neighbors were going to have anything left at home. Then I went out to make sure we didn't have items flying accross the fields. I think we are short one garbage can lid! Not too bad. Nice and calm today. Merry Christmas everyone!!
So, your neighbors had been wonderin' why you had requested that they fill their stacks with hickory and oak only. Now they know ... Heheh.
Haven't been back to look yet Dave. Had a bit of an accident a couple days ago so laid up for a while. Still, might try to go for a walk this afternoon. It is beautiful out there. Sunny and temperature in the low 40's. Hardly any wind. Would be a great day for cutting wood but not on Christmas day and not in my condition.
