What's up today (bullchiting) thread.

Well I finally got out around the trail today and did some trimming. We were lucky with that ice storm just before Christmas. Got the colder temps and ended up with more sleet and snow that Saturday night and into Sunday. Others were not so lucky. I did some trimming and the wife and kids pulled the branches off the trail. Before that I brought several loads of wood in the house, did some cleaning and moving stuff around. Did a little relaxing in between the work. Getting ready for the next cold front that is coming in.

 

Spent this morning scraping the driveway and tomorrow will be getting snow off the roof before rain comes in and turns it to ice. Driveway is a hill and I have learned the hard way to keep it as ice free as possible. Slip and falls hurt more after 50.

Spent this afternoon and evening in Kittery with my girlfriend and 2 of her 4 kids. Had to put their 14 year old German Shepard to sleep yesterday. She would visit here often lately. My male tomcat got along with her just fine. My female Bengal...well lets just say that she "tolerated" her.

Angel was a great friend...she is very missed.

Just finished scripting for a winter weather video, about to lay down the vocal track. Will be part of a bigger project, but I will probably release the segment tomorrow.

 

A white noise machine can work well. A few beers can't hurt either...

 

Sounds like she's already emitting White noise. Mine does the same thing. Have you started smothering her in her sleep yet?

About to upload the winter weather video. Would still love to add video of people running saws or splitters in the snow if anyone has such footage.

 

I'm a light sleeper. I've been using shooting ear plugs at night since I was in college. I buy a big bottle of the 32 decibel Noise Reduction Rating ear plugs at GanderMountain and keep them on my night stand. Of course we could have a home invasion and I wouldn't know it but at least I get some sleep.

 

Video short is done, part of the bigger project but link is going up.

 

My wife and I are going to spend the day riding snowmobiles which is almost better than cutting firewood.

 

Thanks Dex. I'm in negations to get Scotty's snowmobile video, and I might go outside for a little bit today and run some maple through the sawbuck to get some chainsaw footage. I am experimenting with documentary style film making.

 

Dang it's cold out there! -10 and I just stepped out to shoot a short video. Chopped up some silver maple in the sawbuck with the ms250. Trying to drink some coffee to get warmed back up!

 

Was 3 deg this am, now its a balmy 28 degrees. Been out since about 9am and just came in from some roof cleanup (roof rake, no ladders on the snow for me) and as much as I could find to keep me outdoors while it was this warm and sunny. Wait, did I just say 28 degrees was warm? That's Winter in New England

Now its time to clean the stove and get her fired back up again.

 

Im hangin on the couch today sick as a dog. Thought i was getting over it yesterday but woke up this morning feeling like total crap. Wife went to her friends house up north so me and the dogs are takin it easy. It's raining so i don't feel so bad about waisting the day.
