Wouldn't it be hard to compare two loops stock and get relevant data? I'd be very interested to see two "blueprinted" loops (filed/ground to exact same cutter lengths, same angles, same raker depth, etc)

I'm going to do this. Off the reel.

Since the stock chains were only tested near knots and used to cut big block areas off too. That way the clear wood was for the chains sent in.

Test the 2 new PS PS3 stock chains in clear wood. Could use the echo 3900 39cc then the echo 4500 45cc that is like the OE 346 in the cut.

Aight. Sure. But I need someone to come up with some synthetic wood to cut with consistent density throughout and a robot to run the saw. :picard:

I was thinking more along the lines of eliminating some of the variables in the factory stampings. But I guess they wouldn't be "stock" anymore either.

IF I remember right. That one was right where I was cutting the block of knots off to get clear wood again.

Round 2 is going to be a 12" picco bar on a woods ported by Dan Henry Dozerdan 026 with 3/8 7T.

Bet I will be wearing my chaps on that one for sure.:zip:

When I started with picco, the PS3 was faster in my tests as well. I understand they are the same cutter. But both out of the box and several different cuts at different points in the wood. Sounds ridiculous. .

So, Mr SquareFile is the winner!! Congrats buddy!

So how much you charging to do chains now? lol... I need two 60 DL and two 84 DL. ;)

I have 100 pages to read on your thread (or better), I am interested to see how they stacked up on a saw with more grunt!

These are the results so far for race chains only. With the bigger saw. Stihl 026 I believe.

Ok here are the timing of the videos for race chains only. By 3000 FPS.
    Concretegrazer 2.69
    3000 FPS 2.89
    SquareFile 2.95
    M Lee 3.01
    Awol 3.05
    Hedgegrow 3.21
    1Manband 3.53
    Aclarke 4.31

    Stock PS3 2.80
    Stock ps 3.06

I think I got all the race chains done. Timing by gatekeeper.
    Concretegrazer 2.70
    squarefile 2.92
    3000fps 2.93
    gatekeeper/mlee 3.02
    Awol 3.10
    Hedgerow 3.12
    1manband 3.59

Added in your work chain times. Mike said he had about the same and orders same.

Cuts made with a dozerdan woods ported 026 with stock carb intake etc.

Thanks to those that came from other sites to join in on the Chain Build Off on Chainsaw Repair site.
