    I know and thank God you have a good heart and are a good father and role model for you daughter. I know too you do not want kudos. We have been promised these opportunities will always be with us. They are a gift from God. Just being part of the lives of others in a helpful way is our reward. Bless you and your family brother and may your Christmas be filled the love of our Lord.

    The Lions Club is trained and mission is to provide Hearing Aids and Eyeglasses to low income families with a special consideration to children which in our state translates to no child is told no. That being said we are also a community service organization, this fell into helping out our community. We are certainly going to keep this family on the radar... just trying to transition from emergency needs to long term goals.. Meaning we want to teach them to fish instead of giving them a fish.. Also, I will make sure the little girl education is on track so her options in the future will not be stymied.

    Ok, just wanted to give happy update before Christmas, saw special education teacher this afternoon and we have been having a private homework club with my daughter and daughter of this family i will call her "S", as they are in same grade and class... Well "S" managed an 89 on her division test of 3 and 4 placement division with decimals :thumbs:.. a grade level improvements.


    Merry Christmas..... best present for me .. Thanks for everyone's thought and prayers.. I WILL continue this kitchen table club til end of school year..
    And with results like this get this girl on a successful education track..

    Guys you need to meet me! I never had angel status! high school year book somebody got voted most likely to succeed. NOT Me I got voted most likely to get into argument or fight.

    what I do have is an innate sense of justice and fair play. Life is not Fair ... never will be... Goal here is to lend a helping hand to increase education so "S " has choices in future. Then, this is the hard part, let her make her choices.

    With all that being said, my mother, who was a saint, may be smiling down at me from heaven.

    I'm sure she is. She would be very proud of the things you have done.

    Everytime I hear my son say somethings not fair I try to explain to him that life's not fair. I explained to him last night that he is the oldest and held to a higher standard than his younger brothers. Hence more chores and expected to set examples for his brothers.

    This is an amazing story and you truly have a wonderful heart. The fact that you are teaching your daughter to have a heart like yours for people is truly amazing.

    Well she won't hunt :confused: cause daddy the deers are so pretty.. She helped wrap presents for family and was happy they are getting more than she is..

    I appreciate all the compliments guys.. Not how I see myself.. I am just a regular guy .. grew up in a loving family in transient little city moved to country to raise a family in way I thought was best. Rather embarrassed this much need was 4 miles from my home and I did not know it..

    But as we move forward how much more effort and time is it to do home work with 2 instead of 1. I just want "S" to have choices in future that education provides. Side benefit of teaching my 10 year old about compassion... Wood teaches anyone work ethic .. Want to give them tools for future. Somebody once said 100 years from now what you taught children is all that matters or will still be here

    Til then I will fake it til I make it

    Canadian, you and I are not alone on this forum as there are many that feel the very same. And it is my honor to call you and many others my friend! A very high honor too.


    Much wisdom there. And much of the wisdom we try to teach to children, or anyone, is not listened to....until much later. We can only hope to pass on good things but it is also up to others to accept it.

    You can be proud you grew up with a loving family. Some of us did not have that pleasure and many will never know what it was like as a youngster growing up that way.
