No it wouldn't, just to bring it to me would have been at least $25.00; that is what the guy at the mulch place wanted to charge to bring a couple of scoops of mulch.

Obviously you and Sackwood are very different. He thinks like your in-laws. If he wants to burn a million dollars in the fire place tonight then it is his prerogative; it doesn't matter that his children or grandchildren might be hungry, he doesn't owe them anything. Some people just don't give a hoot about other people including their own family. That is life. You know who they are; we just have to decide not to let them occupy any space in our head rent free. We already know that for the rest of their life they are not going to change. You can expect more of the same treatment from them for as long as you live. To add to what Sackwood said, "Life is too short to let little people ruin your day". We just have to limit contact to as little as possible if not sever completely.

Yes because my brother in law is so smart. I guess you can say live and learn. He never liked me because I married into the family and I am Italian.

Mmm, I'm going to pipe in on this comment. 35k can get one hell of a 3/4 ton 4 door truck. I paid 12,500 for my 2500 with 5.9L High Output. It has four doors and seats 6, plenty of room for kids....

As far as your jeep, I'm glad you like it but a puller it is not. I had a cherokee with the 4.0 and a 5 speed. The most i was comfortable towing was my single axle trailer with about 3/4 cord of green wood, i just couldnt stop the damm thing. With that said, loaded like that i was only willing to go 2-3 miles, if farther i refused to load it to the max and had to make more trips...Does it have an electric brake controller, chances are you'll need one to pull a double axle dump like you hypothesize. Done with the cars part.

Your wife, If you're burning for more than ambiance then she should be invested in the acquisition and processing along with you. It will help her appreciate the hard work. I bought a triaxle load my 3rd year burning. My wife was stunned by the cost, and the subsequent work. Now she values the time i spend to run down free wood....

Wasn't meaning to turn the thread in a negative direction, just looking for some honest advise and I guess I got it.

You don't actually know me, so don't profess to know what I think, feel, or how I treat my family.

Advice is exactly what your getting.... You might not like it all. I will agree the living beyond your means comment was uncalled for, i dont understand why that was even said, nothing in this thread points to the fact that you coulndt buy the wood if you needed to. But your Dr. Phil comment was a cheap shot too.

Decemberist, I didn't see that you live so close to me. We raised our kids in Burnt Hills because of the school system. I am now in Glenville.

Or even a $1000 beater, the more color/rust/noise, the better! My neighbor has that exact truck, an old early eighties Chevy. Let's just say, he can willingly go where I refuse to drive my truck.

I would like to stop back by and apologize for saying Decemberist was living beyond his means. I don't know his particular situation.

Yes, but they are family; even if through marriage. They were took and didn't know better. When I first came here, I had no idea what a face cord was; now I know it is not a full cord.

Yes they are family but his pride gets in his way. Not enough of a man to say he was taken because he is older then I and knows everything about everything. You see when I don't know something I listen to people who do know and learn and when it involves money I learn really fast.
