Good job. I stacked a lot of wood in the basement a few days ago in preparation of the cold that is here now. It makes things easier to not have to go out to get wood in single digits.

Double digits below is rough. This is a pretty cold winter from the reports everyone has put up. I'll get some pics up once I get my snowblower put back together. I'll start another thread to avoid hijacking.
Yesterday @ this time it was -16 f. Right now it is 23 F. Unbelievable weather. You guys are about to get a blast and they are saying we are supposedly going to stay @ seasonal norms. Seems like everything weather=wise is going bass-akwards. Amazing. Stay Warm.
Thanks Rott ya it's blistering cold coming our way. Right now it's not all that cold but the weather advisory is calling for up to 14" snow and -35 wind chill. Fun fun good thing I have 4*4to get to work!
We've had 2 weeks of that cold, its nice to get a break. Telling us to expect 4" of snow between tonight and tomorrow night, temps to stay in the upper teens to mid 20's. Travel safe Pete.
We have Beech, Ash and for the really cold night Mulberry. Mulberry burns almost as hot and long as Oak does ( I can't wait! )

I'm betting you've seen this weather pattern before. Then Mid West has had a long run of nice weather but snow & cold for winter was "the norm" in that area a few decades ago. Knowing you & Judy will be fine, we'll worry about Pete. LOL
No need to worry about Pete, I'm watching him by PM. I've got my stuff as ready as possible here. These are the winters I remember from a few years back. I have to admit I've gotten a little less diligent the past few mild winters, but my gut kept telling to "be ready" so I did this year, & good thing. Worst problem was yesterday morning at -14F I had a pipe in the well house. Bad heat tape I guess. All fixed now. I plowed snow commercially for 25 years, & worried about the weather, sleep, family functions, etc. all winter. Now the wife & I are watching it snow out the big window, & enjoying 75F in the house. Worst thing I gotta about is whether the restaurant will be open for breakfast tomorrow. Man what a nice feeling. Stay warm & safe all. A C
This is the kind of weather that us burners can stand up and be proud. After this year, everyone's neighbors will illspeak no more of all that wood we are hoarding in our yards. I cant imagine burning only oil. This cold will dipping deep into peoples pockets. Stay warm!
