Lil junk in the trunk,, guy said after running 4 tanks threw it he decided it was way more saw then what he needed, and went back to the stihler and bought a ms251....
crazy huh? I am glad that 461 was too much for him It came with a 25" bar & chain, carring case, a NIB spare 25" chain, manual & tool kit.
This is the SP-81 that I found in a box in my garage that I did not recall buying. A generous member on Another Site sent me the roller nose bar. I will need to spin up a chain for it.
There are many days that I would. Especially the 241. That thing takes apart treetops like the little animal it is and is real easy on the operator.
Yea if were just talking tree tops but I dont cut up just tree tops. Sounds like this guy is a one saw guy. Rather have a 70cc and heft the weight in the tops than to fall asleep cutting 20" rounds with a small saw.
Took a few minutes this afternoon & cleaned up some odds & ends.Roughed out a few more Mulberry woodturning blanks, trimmed defects off some lower grade Black Walnut,Black Cherry & Spruce logs.Remainder went to scrap pile, plus a bit of mulch. Much more exciting using a 20" or shorter bar on a 82cc saw than a longer one. Job is done quicker also cause of higher RPM's Just realized I hadn't run ANY saw since cutting up that dead Bur Oak at parent's place the first Saturday in November...
Not the 026 I have used. That husky 555 I have is probably pretty close in power and no way I would want to use it on 20+" oak as a main firewood saw. I am too impatient.
Are those bottle kill trees? Wind throw? And what are the tree shelters protecting them from? There so few saplings in shelters?
Beetle is what it should say. But yes I meant to say "wind throw" thats the proper term. I think I have figured out the problem?? I am not sure if tap a talk is more laggy or something but it seems to be worse when I post from tap a talk which j have been since we got it here. And in the last few months these typos seem to be getting worse? Least thats what it seems like to me.
Usually the problem sits between the drivers seat and the steering wheel. 261 is a very different animal than the 026. If you don't like a 20" on your 555 then you ain't gonna like it on the 261 for sure, stock or not...
That area was burned last summer, and we've been getting quite a bit of moisture here lately. I guess the ground got saturated, and that tree got knocked over by wind. Too bad, because it was one of the few remaining trees after the fire, and logging/cleanup. It actually fell right across the road. I bucked it up and left it for others to pick up, since green Douglas Fir is quite heavy.
