We had about 23 this morning, I ran the pellet stove last night but shut that down this morning. I have a load of Cherry in the Liberty, it took a very long time for the blower to kick on (almost an hour) so I'll be getting a backup snap disk just in case that's the problem.
26º out and 74º in, just loaded a mixed variety of cherry, ash, maple and a hunk of locust. Heading to the outlaws house for our Christmas GTG.
It's about 28 so we have a load of Cherry in the Liberty. I did buy the extra snap disk for the blower on the Liberty when I was in town.
It's on page 2, it tells the blower when to come on or turn off. http://www.lopi.com.au/brochures/freestanding-fan-installation-guide.pdf
26 out .. 86 in stove room 72 rest of house. finally put some ash and apple in stead of popular. Yup my double stairwell is starting to act like cold air return .... inch of snow on ground.. 15 to 20 MPH NW wind ... Fall has arrived
Welcome saskwoodburner . Around here it is still warm compared to a normal year. Today saw a high of about 37ºF or about 3ºC. The forecast for x-mas is 53○F, about 12C. It is shaping up to be a brown x-mas.
Do you get many brown Christmases Oldman47? We almost had one a number of years ago. In the 17 years I've lived in the Rockies we've been white every year. Sure is white around here right now thankfully. My son and I were out for a second day in a row shoveling the driveway. I grew up in Vancouver and don't recall a single white Christmas although I know there was at least one since I moved away.
Here in SC I think we have had a few snows on christmas. Thinking we may of had one in n then last 5 years?? Maybe not?
I cleaned the ashes out of the quad, and got her choochin' with elm and shagbark hickory uglies. Time for a reload.... Hickory and ash this time.
Woke up to upper 20's this morning, hit highs in the mid 30's with a steady wind, keepimg things cold. Low 20s tonight, burning hickory, hard maple, and oak uglies.
I can almost see the smirk on your face, must look something like this . I don't have either of those in my stacks, but I dream of the day ... . Enjoy!
I warped the top of my stove I think a few years ago stuffing it full of Bulk locust! The top and the corners where the cats mount in the too of the stove. Its jut the inner plate and the steel around the cats that the smoke takes to exit when cats engaged
Most years we can count on a white X-mas but not every year. This year I expect shirt sleeve weather on X-mas. I have seen temperatures in the low single digits this close to the holiday in some years in the past.
It's 26 outside tonight, the basement is 76 (location of the stoves) with a new load of Cherry going in the Liberty and the upstairs is 70. We're finally getting some snow so tonight.
