Just replaced flywheel side seal and just got to clutch side. Need to remove worm gear drive from crankshaft - shop manual says puller (p/n 5025026-01) and sleeve ( p/n 5025099-01) are needed. Can't seem to find these for sale or find price - unless anyone has a redneck solution - anyone know where you can find these? Thanks! Cheers!
I found mine on eBay ... about $13 shipped for the whole shebang. If you're handy with a welder, you can make one with a piece of pipe, a nut and a bolt.
Going real well Fuzz! Husband of a woman from work had her bring his 55 for me to look at. Got the saw with two other top ends in a box. Burned up the OEM top end and then the next AM top end, then ran the 3rd real hot and compression now at about 115 - not good - already lightly scored with about 15 minutes run time. Sucking serious air. Clutch side seal is trashed. Replaced the flywheel side, but need to pop the worm gear drive to get to the seal. Will need to make one or buy one. Even then, I told him it won't be great with the top end already iffy, but we'll see.......he said if it doesn't do the trick, to just keep it for my time. So, worse case, I'll drop another top end on and get it running well. They are good saws. Hope you are well! Cheers!
the prices are 15 and 35 dollars you can order them from a husqvarna dealer or from ebay New OEM Husqvarna Oil Pump Puller Driver Part Tool 502509901 42 51 55 242 246 Repair TOOL FLYWHEEL PULLER HUSQVARNA CHAINSAW 154 181 242 254 chainsaw hope this help you
Thanks - paid the 15 or so for the sleeve, but found the puller for $13 + shipping on another site - ereplacementpart I think. Cheers!
No access to lathe - that would be nice. Was going to try to find the right nut and weld a tube to it, another nut on top to receive a bolt, etc., but guys wants the saw back sooner rather than later. Cheers!
