You load at 9:30 and wake up at 5:30 to this! I am amazed I honestly don't think that has ever happened with this stove before. Usually it's all coals and hot as can be but there isn't wood left just a monster coal bed. The house is 68f! Nice to wake up too.
Ok the truth is I woke up at 4am and reloaded the stove and spent the rest of the morning on the recliner by the stove
Sounds like this thread has gone astray. On a serious note that is a good burn. What kind of wood was it. I burn alot of elm and can almost get that in my old Sierra.

Yep. Waking up in the morning is always a bonus. I have a patient who, when I ask how he's doing, always replies, "I'm looking down at the grass and not up at the roots."
I like that song. If I drank more I may use it too,but Im not a big drinker and when I do drink I prefer to have company.
Back on topic...I wouldn't know what it's like to have dry wood. I think everything I have is 18% plus
Sweet Deal! Mine looked about like that and I was kicking myself for not leaving the air open more last night so I could have gotten more heat out of it.....
Over 90% of the time If you are having problems burning It's the wood. Good dry wood, has been & is the key to good burning Something Pete now knows. Dry wood is good!
I've known that for a long time Dave lol but I had the theft of almost 2 years worth of dry wood last year and battled through winter on mediocre wood. Its great getting back to dry wood again!
Many think it's all hype. Something you have to experience , then it gets put in the "Know" section Much different than : I think, I've been told, seems logical ..... Etc Experience burning a few loads of good dry wood, then you know there is a huge difference.
