Good work on the standing dead man! I have a "few" of them I can take down, buck up, and put right in the boiler.
Great stuff all I cut is dead standing Red and White Oak . I find most with out bark is ready to go. Even the larger ones dry out in one summer after CSS the 8" and smaller usually read 16-22 when cut. As someone else said watch the branches as they fall I have had some snap off and go flying. Be sure anyone else with you is also aware of the branches. Have fun and be safe and glad to here they are going to rebuild.
That looks to be a tough mess to try to sort out. Are those thorns on them? Sorry you are out of work, but you have a good attitude about returning when the place is rebuilt. Be careful in that prickly mess.
Lots of briar on some of them. I think that's what you are seeing. Kinda have to cut your way in, drop the tree and then cut those and peel them off.
Slitting out the rest of this wood today. Here are a couple more MM readings. Two different splits, first pic is of the outside of a round, 2nd Is dead center of a round we split in half.
