It was forecasted to be colder and wetter than normal this winter. So far we've got the rain, just wondering when the cold will hit and hoping they don't come at the same time in the form of ice!

It's been cool at nite for the past week, but the daytime temps(especially Saturday & Sunday) have left the stove unused for right at a week....
Yesterday's crappy rainy, blowing breezes and occasional gusts made the decision to fire up tonight a no-brainier... About 74 inside now with an hour and a half burn... House was prolly about 65-67 when I got home at 5:1;, chilly outside- more wind than real chill...that proper December will be coming back this weekend.

It's heading to the high 20's tonight so we'll have a fire in the Liberty.

They're calling for 60 on Christmas day.

    It's usually right.

My guess is that the meteorologists did better in the interview process than the weather rocks. :p

Weather rocks, like weather people, are only really good at telling you what is doing out there.

However, weather rocks don't even attempt to give a forecast. ;)

45º at 5:30 so I fired the stove back up, it's been cold for a week now. NG boiler kicked on a couple times in that week but no way I could have had a fire without the windows open. Forecast for 35º tonight and that's the high for Friday and Sat. going to burn some cherry for a few days.

Tomorrow will be 7 days with no fire. Then the long term forecast looks like irregular burning till after Christmas. Wood consumption is going to be way down this year. Using a lot of matches though lighting fires every other day.
