Yes I was joking. Each site has it's good points. One, a little more hard core technical and one, a bit more casual and laid back.
I don't see where there 's a problem here! I'm a Tree Hugging , pro Islam, Animal loving, Pro gun resolution, Left leaning person. I also own Guns, Hunt, cut down trees and emit smoke in both of my fireplaces! Uh Oh, I might get banned from the Democratic Party for this!
I wish there were a few more, install and chimney cleaning g experts on FHC. Maybe we should head hunt some?
I was tossed from another site, but probably not for the reasons you may assume. Long story short, it was time to move on to greener pastures anyway. In hindsight, I miss many members and even some of the mods from that place. But sometimes bias and judgment (FROM BOTH sides of an argument) can leave a permanent sour taste in one's mouth..... I'll say this much, you guys and gals all prove how nice a place can be when we try our best to leave the bias and politics out.....
Yes, good idea. start a strictly technical section. I know I would have gladly paid tuition for all I learned over there. Glad I found it when I got started heating with wood. Forums are the best source of real life info on the web. For example, if I am planning to make a purchase, I won't trust the ratings on the manufacturers website or Amazon, I go to the forums for real life experiences and reviews.
I have booted a forum but never been booted from a forum. Life gets busy and I don't have enough time for the people that matter the most. I sure as hell don't have the time to invest in dealing with keyboard commandos My mindset is this, I would hangout in person with anyone on this forum. That's why I'm here.
You mean straight up fireplace? I did that for many years, and stopped just over a week ago with that wasting of wood heat craziness.
I didnt know you were a sweep... I meant a Guy has good code knowledge about class A and stuff about hearth requirements... I guess i havent been around long enough to see those conversations
Sure I was kicked off the other site, no warning (their rules say otherwise), they dont like questioning what the mods say, I guess they have what they want what ever that is. I saved the emails they sent just in case.
Not a sweep, but I've swep my chimney and my parent's quite a few times over the years. My dad was a statute making part of the NFPA.
Nice, I sweep mine and my inlaws. I started my own contracting business a year and a half ago. Until then I was a lead inspector of fire alarm systems for SimplexGrinnell. I like to think that NFPA 72 is my beotch.
