When you quote someone you see their number. You are #3078 and have been assimilated. Resistance is futile.
Nice reference, I am finishingy the final season of Enterprise, the series with Scott Bakula. I wish/wonder, when another Star Trek series will make it to broadcast.
I'll be honest, it took me a VERY long time to get over being tossed. I really enjoy the social side of a good forum, this thread is a case in point. But, not to toot my own horn, I think when i weigh in on actual subject matter I have good knowledge to present and do it in a way that can be absorbed by all.... LOVING FHC
What I find truly amazing is that the members here who have had problems elsewhere are extremely nice and polite. I can't begin to understand anyone who had a problem with them.
Let's be careful what we say. We buried the hatchet long ago with the old haunt and I sure as hell don't want to start handing out shovels.
Dude, you buried your hatchet? That sucks. With all this firewood hoarding around here your going to need it. Such a shame.
Ok, so am I the only guy admitting to being thrown off another board? For the record Darth.com is the only board I was EVER tossed from, or even edited on. With that said I am active on no less than 12 boards, firewood, chainsaws, cars, trucks, motorcycles, guns..... the boards are my best source to share and receive first hand knowledge from real people.
Lots of good people out there. We'll see them show up, as a trickle- then a flood. Careful what we wish for??
Funny to see this thread. I was just booted off a forum this weekend. Me and the forum owner just never hit it off I guess. I just tried to avoid him because I got along with everyone else there and made a lot of friends/contacts, otherwise I would have just left years ago. I think a big part of the problem is that when people read your written word, they have no idea what the intent of your comment is; there is no voice so they have to assume whether the comment was sarcastic, genuine, etc. I think that was part of the problem I had with the particular forum I got booted from. The owner misinterpreted my intent on a particular post and he just always gave me a hard time after that. This went on for over a year. He would publically bash me on the forum and it was even worse in PM. I had a lot of members PM-ing me saying that they felt he was being a jerk, don't let him get you down, etc. I PM'd the owner with my phone number and asked him to call me, thinking that by hearing me vs. reading my words, he could see that I wasn't trying to be a smart-adze or anything, but he refused. I'll miss the guys from there but not the owner. The people here seem to be pretty nice and easy going. Perfect for me!
I've never been booted, but I just saw a 2 page thread at the "other place" regarding the relative inactivity of the site. Bet I could get booted if I posted 3 little letters over there (FHC) ! I still go to the Darth side, but it's more fun over here !
Tempting for sure but I think FHC is about more than wood burning or number of members....respect for others is key here so that the last thing we should do ( I know you were probably joking) It's "our"site in a way because we help drive the route it takes by all of posts and activities (GTG, etc) we make and do, but it's "not ours" because we don't foot the bills. We should be very proud of what we have helped to build here and thankful for the powers to be on the site and the respectful way we are treated.
