I have seen where the dealer has fueled and run a saw before a buyer takes delivery. Thus it has been fueled and run but is otherwise new.

My OE 372XP was in that condition when I bought it.

Very good deal on this saw, but still a lot of money making it worth asking questions imho......

I looked at this saw earlier and my gears were turning.

Those with good dealer connections can take saws home with no fuel or oil put in them.

My 390xp has not seen oil or fuel yet. :)

This 440 is as new/nice as they come..

Wish I could afford it. :(

    Good luck with sale bud

It is about at the point a saw like this ought to be bought by a collector who is perfectly happy not to run it. The second the saw gets fueled it would drop the value significantly in my mind. It is my feeling that with a saw like this provenance comes into play, hence the question I asked and the desire for clarity. Out of simple interest I would like to know the production date but don't feel like having my head bitten off.

From what I've seen, they hook em to a fuel supply line and run 'em that way. The saws come outta da box with both tanks bone dry.
