Hard to believe but these places were buried in snow this time last winter. Just by accident the pics to show green lawn happen to include random wood stacks laying around. LOL.
Yup thats green! Looks like the time of year dandelions would be getting ready to pop out. I take pictures of the kids, dog or garden and they seem to be dominated by the firewood in the yard thats hard to miss. We had some pretty intense rain the other day and thought our meager snow pack was going to disappear but it stayed white and now we have a bit more snow to keep it looking festive. Are you getting any burning in?
Yep - still green here and no white stuff forecast for at least the next 10 days or so. 50 today and tomorrow! Stacks look good! Rubber roofing for cover? Cheers!
I see rain showers turning to snow showers next Monday night here. Warn until then but wet starting tomorrow night through Monday. Maybe you'll have to mow that grass this weekend Gark?! Would you rather mow or plow snow?
I like the bare ground, but it isn't good for plants and it isn't good for bossiness either. There is a snow sled shop just up the road from me. Nice guy, but I'm betting there won't be a lot under his tree this year. My son wants a new sled, but has decided to hold off because the weather doesn't look promising for him to be able to use a sled. We live next to a power line with a major snow trail on it. I've enjoyed watching the sleds go by in past years. Sometimes there were large groups that came by. Just like watching a train go through. Another son bought two sleds so he can take his family ice fishing. Not only is there no snow, but there isn't any ice. I'm afraid that we we start getting ice on the lakes, too many will be too anxious to get out on it before it is safe. Happens every year, even when we have a good ice year like last year.
The lawn mowers are both put to sleep for the season, winterized so no more cutting grass. That rubber roofing stuff is tough and lasts a long time. Burning has been spotty here, but like you know what's coming where you live, we know too for here and 24X7 fires are coming soon. Any unused firewood leftover from winter is appreciated 'cause it just keeps getting better.
If this warm weather keeps up I'll be mowing again before Christmas. Almost 70 outside now. Very odd.
Warm here as well. Going to hit the 60's this weekend, but before you know it , it will be cold and snowing, so enjoy it while you can
Actually saw 58ºF here today with a forecast of 57 for tomorrow and 60 for Saturday. I don't use NOAH but Intellicast has been fairly accurate most of the time unless I go out more than a couple of days. I think they had forecast 56 for today.
It would be interesting to experience that. Is that your amount of light now or at its darkest? We find it a bit dreary here when its dark before 5! With us being in the mountains our sun is gone behind "the hill" and out of the yard sometime around 3 pm (shade not dusk). Being a gardener I would find it an interesting experience to grow in your area during the summer.
Have some friends in Chillawack. Daylight in my signature, gives, times , sun angle etc... Great gardening for some stuff. GH for tomatoes , peppers, cucs Sun about an hour late, from the chart, here now , has to come over the mts.
It's been really weird around here, foggy weird stuff, no sunshine in many days, go outside in the morning in the dark to get wood with a headlight on, it's like microscopic snow, quarter mile visibility
