Made it all the way up to -22.3 this afternoon. Dumping down to -35 tonight with a NE windchill of -43. Both stoves producing nicely on 3 yo Red Oak. 74 here in the house. Supposed to finally break here on the weekend for a couple of days. We are missing all the snow you folks are enjoying down south. Stay warm everybody.

Do you use C° or F°
    Either way that's cold
    The 2 are equal at -40 °C = -40°F

-8 F last I looked and Sunday Monday going into the -25 to -30 range. Not happy about that. I got into the truck and the dang throttle was frozen so the pedal wouldn't move then the door latch froze on the passenger side and the wipers froze down! When I went to drive the dang tires literally where frozen to the ground. I sprayed we-40 on the throttle and it actually gummed up ( that's cold ) so I took my propane torch and heated the throttle linkage so it would move. Man what a pita! Now I have to do it all over in the morning too in order to get to work.......

That's Super cold weather. Brutal when yo go outside !
Hard to heat at -10° & 20 mph winds.
Wind sucks the draft hard & any leaks in the house are sucking in -10° to feed the daft.
Looks like you warm up in a couple days.
    Hang in there.
    Using the good wood ?

We're burning the good stuff, sugar maple, beech & some ash. It sure is cold, in this weather the pellet stove in the other corner is a blessing.

Saturday I'll be clearing trail, it will be on our property or helping out the snowmobile association clear trail from the ice storm.

You must be tolerant to the cold, What it gets down to 15 degrees the only time I go outside is to get wood or food, Or plow snow if I have to :)

Good helmet in the cold is critical
Not Fogging up when it's real cold takes good equipment.
No exposed skin to get frost bite.

    Sounds fun Zap
    Stay warm

It was zero out when I got to work this morning. No wind though...I lit a fire 45 minutes ago and the stove top is up to about 275. Furnace is running to assist here. Stove alone would take hours to bring room up to temp. With the furnace going, should increase 20 degrees by 1.5 hours from now. Objects in room are all cold. Room was 55 when I got here. I like it about 74 or 75, so the stove has it's work cut-out.

I was outside for about 20 minutes yesterday, it's colder than cold.

They have us at -37 (realfeel) again tonight but I'm thinking it won't be that cold.

With the pellet stove on manual feed and the Liberty with a nice load of Sugar Maple, the basement was 81 this morning with the livingroom upstairs at 70, the bedroom was 68, we'll take it.

I thought about clearing trail tomorrow but just read this, if it stays the same the trail clearing will have to wait.

Saturday Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 25. Wind chill values as low as -26. Breezy, with a south wind 8 to 13 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon.

    Sunday night looks even better.

Sleet before 1am, then freezing rain between 1am and 4am, then snow and sleet after 4am. Low around 26. Southeast wind 8 to 13 mph becoming southwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

    Mother Nature rules.

I went in my woods yesterday during the snowstorm here and removed my ground blind... Was beautiful inside my woods, so quiet... was a whole 2 degrees out... I'll back drag my trail through my woods with my tractor bucket, the deer love it and it makes a good path for cross country skiing and taking the dogs out.... Even broke down and hung a heat lamp in our chicken coop with -14 coming... Just to keep them from getting any frost bite on their combs...otherwise they're fine...
