i just took a walk in the woods out behind my house and a garter snake crossed the path,it is 54 degrees but overcast ,it sure has been a strange fall thats the last thing i expected to see today .
Wow! Chipmunks are out here big time. Ground should be frozen but it is not and no snow either. Maybe a green Christmas this year. But, the old saying is, Green Christmas, full graveyard by Easter.
Nice, one stove off here ,the cellar dweller ,been cycling on an off a few times today . I look at it this way we are banking fuel whether it be pellets or cord wood I'll drink to that [ and pretty much anything else ]
Sad that i had to read that 4 times, twenty minutes apart, to get the joke. And I turned 32 today so senility is not an excuse.
This is beyond unusual. November was the warmest since records have been kept here. December has been setting daily records all around the district for the past week. If it is going to average out we may be seeing a week or two of minus 75F once winter gets going. LOL. I guess we just have to stay tuned.
I don't know if it's from living in New England or my early catholic upbringing, but there is a sense of dread that makes me think we will pay hard for this good weather we are experiencing now before winter is over....
In WA state, my grass is not growing, despite rumors to the contrary. I know where it can be bought though ... We have had a little warm spell the last few days, but it is a colder winter so far than last year.
I've heard we are going to have a mild winter due to El Nino. However; as pointed out, we had a mild start last year. Not this mild mind you. Yesterday picking up my son from track, there tons of moths out. I recall a cycle like this in the early 90's. Several years in a row had little to no snow in our area.
