Campinspecter is in the basement re-learning how to splice a cable eye and I am sitting here supposed to be working on getting the bookkeeping done but we both stopped to enjoy a baked potato out of the wood boiler. After a 6 hour burn, the oven thermometer couldn't read that high so the potatoes only took 30 mins.

Got 4 new Michelin Defender tires put on Mama's car today. Only got 45K out of the stock ones that came with her 2010 Malibu. We'll see how these do, rated as 90K tires. We'll see. I know I coulda' got cheaper, but I don't skimp on tires. Actually not much more expensive than much less tire.

Michelin makes great tires. Pricey but they are the best tire for my truck.

I agree with not skimping on tires as I go to work no matter what the weather is. Today is prime example.

+9'F here and I'm out clearing the snow paths to the woodpiles, and annex parking lot I have in my field next to the house that I also use as a staging area for wood waiting to be split/stacked.

Got a call from a riding buddy.. "hey, can you use your trailer, to come move my bike from garage A (the old girlfriend) to garage B (some other garage)?" I'll maybe give him a hand this week-end, but first I gotta get out there.

Sun's out, the storm has passed and it's a two stove day.

Looks like you got some snow without a lot of wind. Nice pic! I'll bet it's pretty now that the sun is shining?

Should be off work in two hours. Going to start the bread machine mixing hamburger buns for supper (6 yo requested hamburgers on my homemade buns for supper tonight), start fire and then complete process to make FirewoodHoardersTV worldwide. Once the dough for buns is ready I will shape and put by fire to raise whilst I go do a computer job down the street.

We got hit big time with snow. About 10" at home, 20" at work, next two towns had 24" and one reported 30". Very light but wind driven snow. Cars buried completely in some places and bare grass around corners of some building.

It was a classic Nor' Easter winds off the ocean at 30mph with strong bands of snow. It snowed about 28 hours straight. It is unusual to have that much snow with an air temp in the single digits. The ocean temp was 40 degrees and fed the storm the moisture it needed.

The wife fed the stove oak and kept things toasty overnight.

Waiting on parts for the snowblower.

We went for a short ride. It was -3 and my eye lashes kept freezing together when I blinked.

I hate to post this but it was a beautiful day with sunshine and a strong Nor'wester. 3 C (38 F) with no rain. After a week of rain, the sunshine was very nice. Of course, I am back to work next week and it will probably be nice all week. I think we must be the only place in Canada, other than Ucluelet and Tofino, that didn't freeze or have a winter storm.

Spent about an hour at the tree dump today with my dog, scrounging this load of silver maple. He wasn't a big help loading though.
