Good call on their hats & mittens, the wind in Massena was so much colder then here, I'm sure your areas the same.
Ya. They wondered why they had to bring their snow pants too! LOL then they felt what it was like out outside.
13º right now and supposed to go to about zero. Windchill 10 to 15 below. Headin down to load up with locust or jet fuel, haven't decided yet.
Just heading down to load the Liberty with Beech & Ash, run over to the other corner to put another bag of Curran Hardwood Pellets in the Yankee pellet stove. What do most of us say in the fall, bring on winter, it's here big time in northern ny.
We never learn. Just loaded the Liberty up, bottom row is all Sugar Maple, the top row all Beech. It looks like the pellet stove will need another bag before I hit the sack. The basement temp is 78, we should have it at 83 before I call it a night. I just heard that the next artic cold wave might be colder than this one, looks like it will roll in from Sav's way on Monday or Tuesday.
+ -14 OH. WAIT. THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE +1, BUT IT ISN'T, IT'S -14 ON MY BACK PORCH RIGHT NOW. AND THE WIND IS BLOWING. WOOD GUN IS CHEWIN UP THE ASH.
Hey. Stop that chit. Will ya? Snow plow just went by. We got about two inches here in the last five hours or so.
I saw it on the weather channel on T.V. while loading up the stove. I'll plan on bringing in more sugar maple & beech, maybe pick up a few more bags of pellets. They did say look for the January thaw, the third week of January or the last week.
It's gonna' be high of around 30 on Saturday before it drops off big time on Sunday. Saturday will be a day to clean-out the ash before I crank it back up for Sunday / Monday arctic temps.
Repeat of yesterday morning this morning. Too cold to work outside again today. Right at -15 on the back porch. Boiler eating through a chitload of Ash and a little Cherry.
6 degrees here right now..... Stove chowed down on a bunch of Hickory last night and the house temps were 71 down stairs and 68 upstairs this morning. I loaded up the stove last night at 7:15 with an outside air temp of 17 degress and reloaded at 6 am with an outside air temp of 6 degrees. So i almost got a 12 hour burn on 2500 sq ft of house (not counting the unfinished basement) with the T6, can't complain to much about that in my book.
6 degrees right now. It was down to 4 at 10:30 lastnight. Got me some Locust and Hedge going right now.
