My brother checked into Blizzacks a few years ago-he knew I had good luck with them. He asked the tire people if he could leave them on all year of he didnt care about the ride and when he asked "why not", they said cause they will melt  . They are right with that rubber type. He went with something else.

Hate to say this, but you cant trust most phone conversations. They are going to pitch what THEY want you to buy. Not all, but most.

You really need to get your head together, narrow it down to a few and then call for best pricing. If you sound like you know what you want and have some knowledge to back it up they wont screw with you so much.

CleanFire . My experience has Towne Fair Tire having great pricing and they will match anyone out there. Plus you have free snow tire to summer tire changeovers (they will re mount on same rims if you want them to) for the life of your snow tires plus free flat repairs and tire rotation for life of the tires. If they are in your travels, give them some real consideration.

I used tirerack.com and discounttire.com to do my research. Then looked at the locals web pages to check their prices. Had to do a few quotes to get somes, But it was better than dealing with the phone chats.

Wound up going with discounttiredirect.com for the package(Wheels/tires/sensors).

Do your homework...Town Faire will sometimes try to steer your if you get the "wrong" person. My best experience for price matching and customer service is the one in Newington.

I weighed those sites against having to have the tires shipped and then installed. Sometimes a few extra dollars is worth less hassle, but I have also bettered their pricing on my Michelin tires with local brick and mortar shops. Different brands seem to have different price discounts on the net.

Carefull there. I learned many years go to keep items in the cart online until the next morning and then see if you think its a good idea to buy. Funny, online purchases went way down after that

If it was just tires? I would have went with zeller tire. But I was wanting the whole set with wheels. Came mounted and balanced FOC.

Local shops went nuts with their wheel prices. $640 just for the wheels/lug nuts, $300 for sensors and $360 for tires plus mounting and balancing. I got my whole set for $850 delivered to my door step.

Only way to go in your case Jay, IMO. Discount Tire & Tire Rack have done good for me in the past....no complaints at all. I found the cost of getting them shipped, mounted, & balanced was almost always still cheaper than going local, as much as I wanted to do that.
