    How to quickly ruin a vacuum is to vacuum up drywall dust!!! It has to be the worst thing to vacuum.

    No bag, I have spare filters. I've had every piece off of this vacuum, as long as it doesn't hurt the impeller we should be fine.

    Bought a garage sale special vacuum about 5 years ago ($3) that I had been using at the cottage. This summer, I lit it off and was treated to a squealing scratching sound and turned to see smoke and sparks leaving the canister from the motor area! Left a burnt electric smell around for awhile too!
