I don't know about all of you, but I have a plan to cut split and stack like crazy this weekend. Must be that being stuck in this office is getting the better of me. So my plans for the weekend are
-Split/stack the cord of rounds sitting by my garage.
-Stack the cord I split two weekends ago
-Cut and split the trees I dropped in the yard last weekend.

Lofty goals, but what is everyone here planning to do?:axe:

I applaud your ambition to get so much done at once, Woodsnwoods. It is a worthy goal indeed. Maybe 20 years ago I could have tried for so much, but alas, age with wear & tear don't allow it anymore. Thank goodness! Heheh.
Advice, don'the overdo it - the work will wait for you.

I've got about 2 cord of rounds piled up that need split, and a pile of 2-3 cord of splits that need stacked...but I don't see getting it all done this weekend.

I've been working on my car the past 3 weekends, so things have piled up. I still need to bring a few loads of wood in (I haven't started burning yet). I also need to chop up all the leaves in the yard with the mower. I need to clean out the second bay in the garage so I can start parking my car in there. The wife wants me to bring in the Christmas tree and get the lights on it, and we've also talked about putting lights on the outside of the house this year. And if I have some spare time, there's a down ash tree right behind the house I want to buck and stack the rounds next to my splitting area. This week was also gun season, so I might take a walk behind the house and see if I can put a doe in the freezer. And most importantly, I put a red-dot sight on one of my .22 handguns this week and I REALLY need to try it out!!!!

I am hoping to have our drywall ready to be textured by the end of the weekend.

Do what you can before the snow arrives. I plan on stacking some honey locust that I dropped 2 weeks ago as well as some birch / maple sometimes with all the kids parties and sports, I never have any time to do things but gotta enjoy the time with my little ones because before you know they will be stealing my car keys lol..enjoy your weekend and be safe

Any idea what they charge for that? Sounds like it could be fun, I couldn't find much info online.

Holy crap I've been weekend warrior-ing since October. Every single weekend that the temp is above 32 degrees and it ain't been pouring rain, has been a firewood weekend. I've bucked and split around ten cords, bucked and piled another ten cords of rounds, have another five cords in the woods that needs retrieval, and a lot of splitting and stacking. I'm gonna be at it until January if the warm weather in this area keeps up. Working on 2017-18 wood now, I think.

Of course, I also have to go find a Christmas tree and put it up, move a bunch of building materials so I can run my PEX underground from my wood boiler to my new garage (excavation scheduled for Monday) and put the chains on my tractor tires.

No wood cutting/splitting/stacking until January for me. My weekend goals:
    • install window film (love results but not thrilled with the task)
    • cut up some excess oak pallets (kind of a pain, but something compels me to do it, guess I'm :loco: )
    • put up the Christmas tree
    • take 8 of our chickens to someone who will send them to a better place :)
EDIT: targets for January; need this wet area to freeze

Glad to see many others are distracted by other issues. My plan and my wife's plans likely do not align, so next weekends plan will look an awful lot like the one I started on this thread.

Sounds good! I'll be splitting some more kindling, since we have been having such sniff average temps, I'm using more due to cold starts, so I wanna make sure there is enough leftover for spring, when it's a muddy mess. My son will help bring up more SS wood to the covered deck also. Happy woodworking! :)

It depends on the training organization but typically around $150 for an all-day class.
