I guess it depends on where we live, whether the product(s) are listed as [Prime] and shipped from an Amazon warehouse vs. from a 3rd-party seller, and the shipping method chosen (1 day, 2 day Prime, 3-5 day) .. At this time of year, all bets are off, it may arrive by Carrier Pigeon for all I know.

If I -really- need something quickly, I'll pony up the extra 4 bucks for next day shipping & keep my fingers crossed. If it shows up in a couple of days & I can track it, I'm a happy guy. (That's why I love the Prime Account, it's well worth it to me for all the tech stuff I have to order throughout the year, pays for itself w/ the shipping quickly.)

I know on the NewEgg site, any 'Economy' shipping rate option selected is almost guaranteed to transfer from UPS or FedEx -> to the local Post Office here.

Really don't if that answers the question WW, but that's the way it generally works here.

Oh yeah, my dishwasher got delivered to the neighbor. I had just moved in and didn't know a soul. The neighbor was nice enough to come over and tell me she had found it on her walkway. Even asked for ID to make sure I was the person it was intended for - as she said, she didn't want someone's Christmas present going to the wrong person . Nice lady - too bad she moved that spring.

See, I love super saver shipping as long as I'm not in a hurry for it. Before I was a Prime member, I got almost everything with the free super saver shipping. And really, most of the time I get it in pretty much the same amount of time - I've had places ship stuff on Sunday, that I ordered that day, even though the disclaimer said 3-5 days to ship. I have only done the next day shipping once - and of course it took 3 days to get here. If I need it that fast, and it can be gotten in state, I'll just go get it (if possible).

Found another Canon - an upgrade to a slightly larger camera but with the super close-up capability; Power Shot SX400. It's a refurb, but cost me only $50 - includes shipping and camera case. Thanks for the link!

Got an email that it is staged for shipping. I'm guessing it will go out the door tomorrow which means I'll get it the middle of next week most likely.

The issue with the White truck deliveries is that many of those trucks are independent contractors. I am very lucky to have both my work and home routes being owned by the same people. The route owners drive the route where I work and they are very conscientious and extremely customer service oriented to the point of giving us their cell #'s. They tell us of route owners that make them look bad and should lose the route.

The Brown truck is so corporate that the drivers really cant care or they get in trouble for veering off of the corporate line ever so slightly. Every so often we will see a supervisor riding with a regular driver-these supervisors generally have a stick stuck far up their arse and have no personality whatsoever. Brown has been trying go get our shipping business back for several years but after they treated us like a number and hung us out to dry in 2010-it isnt going to happen. Ever.

I have cancelled several orders in the past where in 1 case I still got the item-and the refund. In another I still got the $100 credit that was a promotion of buying the item.

If a cashier makes a mistake and gives me too much money back, I will always return that money. I believe in doing the right thing especially when it involves the little people. But when a large company makes stupid mistakes-that's their problem and my gain. I give them a chance to rectify it, but in the end if they dont........

 That carries over to many service people as they are usually just the messenger.

Best thing you can do is to "get to know" your delivery people. If you have regular deliveries, trat them right and they will do the same in return.

I have prime for now, but I learned prior to choose the 2.99 regular shipping over the Free Super Saver unless you want to wait at least 10 days for free compared to 3 bucks for 2-3 days shipping. Sometimes if you just dont care when it shows up- save the 3 bucks

Newegg can go either way. I ordered Acronis True Image on Tuesday with Free shipping and it looks like its being delivered today or tomorrow :)
For the most part Newegg is pretty good since they ship out of NJ most times

Last year we had gone to the big blue box store to pick up cement blocks for a project here on the farm. They brought the fork lift over and off loaded them into the back of the pick up. When I got home and began to unload them we realized that they had not given us the 100 (quantity) half sized blocks we ordered. They had given us 150, which was too much weight for my PU. They had six guys helping to load them, the department manager had told them to load the rest of a pallet it as he had counted them as being 100. So two loaded and four watched. I called the store and insisted on paying for them as we were going to make another trip to get more anyways. So many businesses struggle in the rural area, even if it is a big box store, we don't need them laying off folks.

Funny, out my way the white truck (indy I assume) doesn't even bother knocking or ringing the bell, which concerns me because it is always after 8 pm and I really don't want packages left on my porch all night (and perhaps the next day). They are the ones that almost always prescan, and then may (or may not) take an extra day or two before actually dropping it off. They actually left something in the bushes halfway between the road and the house one time. I'm unsure if I found it the day after they left it, or they actually delivered it when they said they delivered it (2 days previously).

The brown truck drivers always leave stuff in my garage, which is where I prefer - and makes deliveries during the day. Never had an issue with pre-scanning from them. Once the driver, who also serviced my old house, let me know that a package to me was scheduled for the old house - did I want it at my new one instead? Yep, thank you very much - did not want it going to the Ex!

As far as Super Saver we actually lucked out for a while. Our Post Office had been cut back to 2 hours a day, the delivery trucks are in the area is normally in the afternoon when the PO is closed. This caused us to get the packages a day early. Just last week the finally put the nail in the coffin and closed the local PO. The the shipments will now go to the other post office the next town over and have to wait for the extra day.

oh well sometimes your the windshield and sometimes you're the bug. ;)

Back in October I removed a few items from a group's wish list by buying them and having them shipped to the group I placed the order on the 16th it was delivered to them on Sunday the 18th.

    Can't complain about that.

Now hopefully they made good use of them and that they will be up and running normally again shortly.

Don't let jt see that his head would 'plode, well on the ranch today while the boss is away to her quilt club meeting I got some useful work done there is a fermenter full of soon to be brew. An English Pale Ale is in the works. Before she gets home I hope to have the lawn mower in the garage. I have to rearrange a few things and it is easier if the car is elsewhere. I also decided I could afford to have a coffee with the stove running so yesterday and today the stove has been used and it has been warmer in the den, about 25 degrees warmer. :D

Years ago at our old hangout, someone posted that they ordered a ton of pellets and was having them put into the back or their very capable PU truck (dont remember what kind). Well there was no one at the truck by the loading area the person driving the fork truck mistakingly loaded them into the back of a Chevy S10- made quite the noise instantly when the truck couldn't hold the load  .....

Here's another, what was working yesterday isn't working with some of the browsers (*zon) today. Seems the hard coding is still a bit of a problem. No need for half of the convoluted code.
