I don't know if it means much at this point, but the next 8 days (starting with Friday) are forecasted to be highs in the 40'S.
38º and supposed to hit 32º with a slight chance of snow flurries. I was in the cold garage cutting deer all afternoon so it feels real nice in here with some cherry burning.
We had a little snow this am, and its only about 30°. So, sugar maple is going in the FP. Saturday is supposed to be nearly 50 and sunny. That's a perfect day to install the quadrafire.
No its not a hybrid, I usually do get about 12 to 15 hours out of a load, if it's in the 30's, I do have large temperature swings though, house gets up to like 77 78 degrees then by the time I reload its about 65 in the house, that particular night I actually put little more wood than I should have in the stove, and I did not know the temperature was actually going to rise during the night, so it ended up being in the 40's in the early morning. All that said I think my Lopi is a great Stove, one thing it does have that I don't see any other stoves in addition to the three tubes there are secondary air holes in the back of the stove.
Maybe 30 tonight. Gonna' fill the stove with Maple and call it a night in a while. Like the Yooper, we trolls are due for 40's for several days.
3 and just refired the stove. Elm kept us nice and cozy all night! That and 2 of our dogs in the bed that is.
It's suppose to get into the 40s this weekend. Good 8 to 10 inches of snow in NW Iowa but zilch in central Iowa.
31 early this morning 3" fresh snow. Likely be gone by tonight. Big odd shaped hunk of locussed in the stove. Prolly last all day.
19 this morning. Calling for a warm up this coming week. Lodge pole in the stove toasty 72 in the house.
Stove was still cranking this AM...stirred it up a little and left it alone. Shouldn't need to strike a match tonight eiher. Big stoves rock.
