I'm with you guys these days. I'd love to have swags buck come my way. I'd enjoy it and let it keep right on walking down the creek bed towards my waiting friends so they could get him. I'm waiting for his little tender brother or sister to come along.
This is a good 3yr old deer in OH. A lot of hunters from up here would kill this deer. I would let him walk and hope he gets another year older.
We don't have the big deer herd that a lot of you guys do. I don't know of a single person in the State of Maine that would let any of those bucks pass.
Got this funky lookin fella on cam yesterday morning in a 10 acre piece i hunt next to my place. It's a tough spot to hunt since they mainly just pass through but he's been hitting some scrapes pretty regularly so im hoping he's around in the tomorrow am
Early Archery season is officially over in PA. Plenty of meat in the freezer and I still have my buck tag in case anything survives the Orange Army.
Trail cam only up since last Thursday....this spot looks to be promising as there are lots of does as we suspected. This guy found him a girlfriend in front of my blind this morning just before sun up.
DITTO! I hunt for the Meat! I take one deer, and I'd rather it be a Big Doe! Some people Kill just to Kill, but I Hunt to eat the Kill. If you have to feed your family and are in need, then you have my blessing!
Sorry it's not a trail cam pic or even a good pic but figured I'd post it since the topic is starting to lean toward hunting mostly for meat. This is my biggest buck and last buck. Got him in 2003 and only taken does since. Haven't hunted in about 7 years now because state land scares the hell out of me. I get enough venison butchering for friends so it kinda works out. I sure do miss that farm though.
Hope he survived the invasion of the orange army today. It was a war zone out there so odds are he's dead, but there's always hope.
Too bad he is wandering around at 3am post rut. That buck is not killable this year unless that changes.
I have watched that buck on the left on camera for 3 years and would take him in a heartbeat given the opportunity this year. I have barely hunted this year because my back had been so screwed up I couldn't pull my bow back but maybe late season I can get after it if he survives the orange army. The buck on the right I have pictures of from last year and he is probably about 2. I think if he had a few more years he would be pretty nice.
Two!!! He looks like a good 3.5 year old! I havent hunted at all this year. My son and other stuff have kept me. Our season starts oct 1 to
