    You're absolutely right Clem. Nothing wrong with buy low and sell high. I'm sure he's got his license to collect sales tax all squared away and is either using a legitimate business to manage the funds or is reporting the income generated on his personal tax returns. Retail is a tough business and I wish him luck.

    Offer 'im $860, that's about what it would have cost you after tax if there had still been one at the store. Explain to the guy that you tried to get one at the store but the "flippers" had already cleaned 'em out. Can't anymore than tell you to get stuffed...:whistle:

    Those are used goods. Saws that I have purchased, used for my own personal use, and decided to sell. And yes, if I've purchased equipment to re-furb and sell, I've sold it through my business and used the funds to grow the business.

    Buying a small lot of new goods to flip on CL, eBay, or elsewhere is no different than if I had called up a distributor, bought several units, and resold them without collecting the tax or reporting the income.

    Ok so your saying you have reported all your income thats good. Used saws that make a profit are still required I believe to be reported on your 1040 . I think after a certain threshold is reached. I'm no tax account here though.

    If you buy a saw to flip and make money thats capital gains to an individual right? If you have a biz license its just biz income/loss??? Like I said no expert.

    My Swisher has a pulley disconnect for starting in cold weather. Which puts the full pull on just the engine.... Let the engine warm up a bit, reengage the belt.

    Flagging a legitimate ad is not "responding in kind". It is the response of bad loser. The guy did nothing to harm you other than the perceived slight of buying something you did not. You don't even know if this is the person who got the last one. A proper analogy in your example would be a parent at a little league game berating the ref for their kid striking out.

    That guy may have been there at 5-6am and maybe only could afford one. Maybe he is hoping to make a few hundred bucks to help cover gifts for his kids christmas.

    I buy stuff to flip. The money I make goes to pay bills mostly not to buy beer cigarettes (dont smoke at all or drink really)and other luxuries for just me???
