Wow, where is that? That's crazy. Unfortunately there are enough (I'll be nice here) uneducated people in the world that some will pay it.

The local HD around here dropped priced by $10 a ton to $259. While not a huge deal, I haven't seen a price drop in some time. Inventory seems higher this year. We'll see what happens when the cold weather settles in.

why would people spend $299.00 when you can go up the road 10 minutes and get these at McManus fuels?

I think many don't know any better and form a habit of going back to where they usually go. We can help by spreading the info where possible. That is if they want to listen?

I tried out some Orford hardwoods last year and they weren't bad. I found them really dense. I never did an exact check, but lets say a typically bag of pellets 3/4 fills my hopper, well the Orford hardwoods I was trying would maybe half fill the hopper.

But they seems to burn pretty clean and were decently hot. I burnt them in the coldest parts of last year. Might not hurt to try a couple bags of the softies. Where I was buying only carried the Orford hardwoods.
