    I have had the traditional pumpkin and coconut creme won't be long I'll be in to the pumpkin creme then my stepson and his wife will be here and I'll have some strawberry cheese cake. Here is what hangs in our kitchen over the old pie safe

    The brother in law (semi-celebrity) chef did ber-blanc (sic?), remulade and baked the oysters and clams. Very very nice, now bring on the bird. Take time to enjoy fellas.

    Just finished the second meal at the other half side. Officially stuffed. The first meal was at my parents at 11 am back at home. Just about time to get back to the house to start the fire. 37 now, when I left my parents it was 60....

    Beurre blanc is a hot emulsified butter white wine and shallot sauce. It's delicious, but a pita to make.

    Great day at the Chief's house. Kids and grandkids all there, Lots of food, wine and other beverages. Perfect weather for a fire outside. I always hate to see them all go, but Christmas is coming so we will get to do it all over again.

    brenndatomu, My wife comes home from my daughters house, electric forced air heat, and is always frozen like an ice sickle and has to spend some time in front of one of the stoves. And she used to hate wood heat in the beginning, 40 years ago. Ha ha, not anymore. She refers to "Her" Hampton quite often. Of course it is hers unless it needs wood, or the ashes need cleaned out, or wood needs brought in from the wood shed, then it is "Mine: :thumbs:
