Happy New Years to everyone. I'm glad the holiday food is almost gone, I was considering adding a ticker in my sig for pounds gained instead of cords put up.

My resolution is probably going to be trying to get more done around here. Between work, family and keeping things going around here, sitting in the easy chair in the evenings has become, well, easy. My work can be physically demanding and a good part of my day can be spent outside. I am going to make the effort to clean the basement up and finish some projects. It may require a cup of coffee in the afternoon to give me a kick in the pants. Clutter can be very overwhelming to me and I think I just shut it out and ignore it, and it just gets worse.

I am also really pleased how well this site has formed and how many members made it over, so I am thankful for that. Great job to Scott, the the mods, and all the members for bringing something to the table and keeping this place somewhere that we can share knowledge and information without ill feelings in the end. Let's make 2014 a good one here!

I have to eat a little less and shed a few pounds. Focus on cutting more wood, working on our new property, do more functional strength training, complete some projects around the house that need to get done. Do we have a tired smiley? Because I am getting tired just thinking of all the things I have to do. Nope. Can't find one. Wait for it.........

 

Whew! you guys all sound energetic about the new year. I appreciate fishingpol's comments about clutter. Campinspecter says "Wait until you retire!" for de-cluttering projects. I guess I will be retiring when we can't get in the basement or my sewing room.

Anyway, Campinspecter and I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and success to all your projects especially firewood hoarding We would like to thank Scotty and the moderators (Pallet Pete, DexterDay, MasterMex, and Well Seasoned) for getting the forum up and running and most importantly keeping it running. Also for being available for help that almost seems instantaneously.

I bought the one on Northern Tool. It has clean sine so the pellet stove and electronics should get protected. Small enough not to guzzle gas, but large enough to power the essentials. I could have doubled the output for just a hundred more, but from where I am looking at things, I felt it important to get what is adequate protection.

Made a resolution to try not to buy anything from China this year. Hope I don't need any electronics! Been watching documentaries on Netflix and really don't like what China has been doing to us. Nuff of that.

You folks trying to loose wieght should look into having 5-6 small meals during the day as opposed to 3. Small meals at night. It keeps the metabolism churning. I eat a lot of salads and really enjoy them. Even without meat they are a real meal. My favorite has apples, pears, nuts and goat cheese. Good luck to all!

I wish we could get along without imports. Trying is certainly step #1. As to the weight loss, my issue is snacking. Poor selections. I have a license that says I know better. But what I do is another matter.

Totally agree about it being for me and only me. My ex wife was constantly bitching at me over it. That didn't work. The gf simply supports my effort. While I am quitting for me, I'm sure she'd rather not have me smelling like an ash tray.

I did have 2 yesterday. Trying for none today. Never had much luck with the gum, e cigs, Chantix, etc. Just gotta do it. I've done harder things in this life that's for sure.
