STOP

Okay, the site is getting too busy. I am having problems getting on because I have to choose my country. Once I choose my country I can't get away from the screen. The world map won't leave my screen and I have to scroll all the way down to get to the forums.

I still have those annoying pop ups every time I come here. I liked the site better when it was basic. There is way too much bling here.

 

You are still getting the notification for choosing your country because you haven't chosen your country yet. Choose your country and the next time I scan for people who have selected a country you will be removed and you won't see it anymore and that will be done forever.

 

Sorry but this is such a pain in the butt. I just want to get to the forums without all this extra stuff.

 

Oh, and I did choose my country and hit save changes. Nothing happened.

 

All what extra stuff, exactly? Other than being asked for your country so we can hopefully gain some international members?

It doesn't matter what country I am from. We shouldn't be forced to reveal that. AND I did choose a country.

The pop ups that come every time I first come to the site. I have to exit out of those. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

 

What browser are you using? Do you have cookies disabled? There should be no reason the noficiations are popping up after you have dismissed them.

Tell me what country to set your profile to and I will set it for you. We are trying to make sure people only see banners appropriate to their country, if you want to set it for egypt or where ever I don't care but it needs to be set to something.

 

Set mine to the United States also,I cant get rid of the damm thing no matter what I do.

I had the same problem when forced to select my country, finally figured out that it was requiring me to put something in the " favourite firewood" field also before it would save changes

 

Thanks Dave, that helps. The fav firewood and regular location field may end up being required because we required them at login-- that's how we took care of our spammer problem. When people say their favourite firewood is the Boston Celtics we know they are spambots.

Thanks for all you do Adam, site looks great to me, but I understand Daryl frustration, I am the same way with tech things sometimes too.

 

And I would love to help her. I can put the info in for anyone manually if they need me to. And as far as the notification, I am waiting for more info from her or anyone else that can't permanently dismiss them by clicking the X. Then I can contact xenforo, because that is a feature in their base software.

 

The popups always comeback for me when I log out.

 

But are they there when you log back in?
