I found these 3 pictures on pinterest. 2 stoves and a pellet, amazing the things people think of these days
I met a guy this summer that sells the wiseway. Interesting, but I can get real wood and stove for a lot less! And not only operates the same (without electricity) I can also cook on top of the wood stove. The tube heat exchanger looks like it would be great, but again, no cooking allowed on top with that design. But I bet with the bottom air intake and top air exhaust of the tubes, it really moves the heat! Would be great for a workshop, no?
I remember reading somewhere that a domed top to a fire chamber was more efficient in the scheme of things. Might have been to do with kilns, but I don't think they were referring to and old navel mine being converted to a wood stove. There was a stove out of MN that was shaped like an "A Frame" top third was all heat exchange tubes with a sliding plate for cleaning built up crud of them- he had a second one more conventional box type same on the exchange tubes in the top ( late 80's-early 90's) before the EPA rulings. Is that one with the fans a pellet stove ?
The reason I love wood heat; is for the fact that if we have a "catastrophy" in the middle of Winter, I can still heat my home. I do have a generator..........................
The reason I love it is because this all my grandfather and father had growing up in yugoslavia. They used it for heat and cooking. I was the only one out of 6 boys to follow in their footsteps. It sure came in handy when Sandy knocked the power here for 6 days even though I had a generator but my furnace kicks on only if it fits below 60 and that's hardly ever. .the usual temp in winter is 71..
