Snow mostly melted of the pile of Uglies. 40° with 30 mph winds Started stacking it by the burn pit. Got about 3/4 of a cord stack & it started raining . I can handle outside in 40° with 30 mph wind but not gonna stack wood in 40, 30 mph winds & rain ! Even had a fire burning the punky stuff, bark & splitter tailings. Not quit 1/2 cord left, Should have room, hope to finish it before it snows again. ( but not in the rain )
In this case , the 2 dimensional Pictures don't do the twisted, bent, bell shaped, knotty stuff justice But a few splits are "near punky" centers, not sure how they'll turn out, real heavy - high water content Stacked, so far measures 3/4 cord, but if a cord is 85 to 90 cubic feet, this stuff might make 64 cubic feet per cord. Lots of air space in there , might help it dry faster
OK..................I'm calling BS on this thread.................................. UGLY WORK and BOGYDAVE are "mutually exclusive".......................they cannot happen together!!! These are not his pictures...............................he found them on the internet somewhere. Y'all have seen his pristine stacks, piles, work areas, tools, saws etc................................this ain't him!!!!! Hey Mods.............we've got a "mole" here!!!!!!
If it keeps melting, I'll be back riding the bike Ground is froze , the water isn't soaking in. Need break up boots, puddles forming all over the yard.
