All aluminum body, bed, cab, all of the major upper parts that were steel are aluminum.

You'd think that steel would be tougher than aluminum, but the alloys ford used are are up to the task.

Ford actually tested this out on specially built, but not disclosed to commercial f150 owners in a quarry. The mules in 2011 f150 guise, but all aluminum beds fared exceptionally well in that abusive extended test.
How Ford secretly tested its aluminum F-150's mettle at a Nevada gold mine

Ford did their research, and wouldn't risk sales of the best selling vehicle in the US for, whatever record, like about 30 years now?, on something that wouldn't work.

Check the link above with the secret aluminum bed commercial test. They also improved upon those unknowing commercial user beds as well.

Yes, aluminum can corrode, but I'd take an aluminum body over steel any day.

I used to live in Bethel, Maine. I had to drive up through Franconia Notch weekly for work. So I know that, and other nh and me roads. Yeah, the 3.5 is a good motor. My parents have one in their 2014 Edge.

Hehehe... you reminded me of our town plow engineers too Rotti. You can feel the ground vibrate 1/2 mile away before you hear the beast dragging that iron on bare tar, driving by. We had too many times where he'd go by "plowing" a 1" storm... and then 12" or more where nobody knows where he is... :binoculars:...

2014-2015 snow budget must have some leftover $ in it. If they don't spend it, next year's budget goes down. Gotta love gubment logic.

early season snow it's still kinda fun to run the plow truck. Probably have money in the budget to burn as well
The monotony will set in eventually - running a plow truck by yourself for hours on end in the dark....man I miss snow:D
