I burned a soggy wet half rotted split last night! Only top covered stacks. Need to move it to the cover. Had a week of rain

I just top covered my wood last weekend, we have some heavy rain coming overnight. I do have a little over 2 cords in the shed though.

Once its dry I need to break out some tarps. Got some on a cart under the shed but I can only do a few days at a time that way. When it rains 9 days in a row or something it can't dry when just too covered.

WOW! I wish. there's a lot of competition up here for free hardwood as so many people heat with it. A fella can only dream. Sigh.:)

That's why I top cover my stacks right away. Provided you don't wrap it all around it will still breathe and dry.

This wood has basically been top covered since stacked. But with 6 days of rain and no sun its all meet anyway.

Wonder where the term originated? Does it imply that above our shoulders is something roundish and comprised of solid hard maple?

I wondered why it seemed like a bunch of old stuff was popping up. Zombie threads all over...and halloween has been over for a few weeks!
