Yep. I mentioned here that it was made of plastic and people called BS so I lit it up.

That was the problem I always had with the Samsung and LG modern washers I owned. Each load took forever. The time remaining graphic may say 55 minutes when it starts, but it's more like 70 minutes. The readout was never correct. And you don't want to know how long it took if you chose the heavy duty option. Probably 1-1/2 hours.

As stated a few weeks ago, I bought (was given) the GE 4.2CF, 27" top loading, agitator model recently as a settlement with HH Greg. Not sure if this is an HH Greg model number, or GE's: GTW460ASJWW

This current washer will do a normal load in about 33 minutes. And the clothes are finally clean again.

Admittedly it only holds 2/3 of what the two modern washers I had previously, but the wash cycles are so fast, I get a lot more clothes washed in the same amount of time.

The washer will hold one spread, but nothing more. That's the downside of moving to a washer with an agitator post in the middle. The drum area is smaller. And this new washer is louder than the ultra quiet LG and Samsung I had previously. But I will take clean clothes over noise.

The enamel tubs work fine for a fire pit too.

I forget which one it is, but one of the cycles is over 4 hours. WTH?
I can do most loads on the "speed wash" setting, which uses a lot less water (we're still having a few issues with the septic, so this is important). That setting also starts at 33 minutes, but depending on how much I put in the tub, it could take longer after it "senses" the load.
This thing's smarter than I am, but I can make coffee, and it can't.
I've only done one big load, and it used a lot of water....bad juju until we get septic rebuilt.
This one is 5.7 cu. ft....it's huge. I could probably take a bath in it, but the spin cycle would make me dizzy-er.:D

Hate to say it man, but 8 years is considered really good these days. They are built to last only 5 years now.

Have you ever stood there for 5 minutes because it said 1 minute and you want to pout the load in the dryer and go to bed? I have on multiple occasions .....
