We have a real nasty El Nino event building up down here. All ready had the hottest Sep, and Oct on record. A really bad drought coming I think. Most crops are stuffed, were looking good but with the real hard finish energy levels are out the window and downgrades for pinched grain are through the roof. A lot are seeing 50% downgrades!
Plus you yankies are forcing down the world prices with a mountain of corn so it is a double whammie for the poor Aussie cocky.

On a lighter note; I just got a picture from one of my Chinese contacts (I call her the pocket dragon, please please dont tell her I said that....). She is at an exhibition at Krasnodar Russia (near Ukraine) and sent this picture.
    Check out the sky:eek:

Pulled the boat, yanked the docks out and stowed the fishing gear yesterday. This is a bit early for me as I usually leave the boat in until we have steady shore ice. The bones are getting old I guess cause fishing was simply to uncomfortable the past few weeks plus I thought I would take advantage of my son's labor before he heads back to Georgia next week. Tuesday he and I will winterize the camp, again a bit early but I do not foresee using it again till spring.

Man age really changes our activity slant. Used to use the camp year round and boat into early December. Now we just can't stand the warm up time when we arrive at camp and I just don't like the hassle of start up and close down for a couple days use.

We usually haul the grand kids up there for a week in Feb for shoeing, sledding, and ice fishing but I think I will leave it their moms n dads this year and just stop in for a day trip visit.

OTH, sitting in front of the fire and playing scrabble or backgammon now has more appeal than a year or two ago as does a card night in the home pub with some friends.

As I keep telling my love -- We aren't getting old ... Just living longer.

getting ready to host Thanksgiving at my house this year....cleaning the dust out, chasing the critters away, etc, all in preparations to bring a big lot of the most evil and picky people (my relatives), to my humble abode.

Same here. I took a mental health day off today and thought I might go outside to finish up a few things. When I stuck my head outside it was cold and windy so I went back in my hole. Funny thing is in January-February, if its 32 degrees, I will be outside without a jacket. Today just wasnt ready for the :shiver:. Maybe I should join Chickenman for his spring down under. :)
